f you're eyeing up your first set of parallettes, sizing is probably the one thing holding you back from hitting Add to cart. Good news, with our parallettes, sizing isn't complicated. Here's exactly what changes between Small and Long, and how to know which one is right for you.
The Real Difference: Length, Not Height
Both our Small and Long Parallettes are handcrafted from the same solid beech wood, with the same 15cm width and the same 10cm handle height off the ground. The only thing that changes is length: 30cm for Small, 50cm for Long. Same grip, same rubber feet, same free wrist wraps included. It really comes down to one number.
Small Parallettes: The Right Call for Most People
For push-ups, L-sits, planks, and general calisthenics conditioning, Small Parallettes give you everything you need. This is our best-selling size, and it's what we'd recommend to almost anyone starting out or training for general strength and conditioning.
Long Parallettes: Built for Advanced Balance Work
If you're working toward a handstand or planche, the extra 20cm makes a real difference. Long Parallettes give you more hand placement options along the bar, more stability when you shift your weight side to side or front to back, and extra room to reposition mid-set without your hands slipping off the ends.
What About Grip Comfort?
One thing that doesn't change: grip. Both sizes use the same handle diameter and shape, so comfort in your hands is identical either way. This isn't about which feels better to hold, it's purely about how much room you have to move.
Bottom Line
If you're unsure, start with Small Parallettes, it's the size most of our customers choose, and it covers the vast majority of calisthenics training. Only step up to Long Parallettes if you're specifically working on handstands, planche progressions, or other advanced balance movements where extra hand-placement room matters.
